The Ben Sabic Bursary is for students enrolled in a sport management, sport marketing, or recreation and leisure services program at a designated educational institution in Canada.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate leadership skills with a focus on community service, describe what degree their level of involvement in the community has been, and state why volunteering is important to them. The foundation values community involvement to a greater extent than academic excellence and seeks to support the development of young leaders. Therefore, an applicant’s ability to succeed in an educational environment or lack thereof and their grade point average will not be considered when evaluating applications.
The foundation will prioritize applicants who have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are two $500 bursaries available. To be eligible, applicants must:
• Be currently enrolled or plan to commence their studies in the Winter 2021 semester, in a sport management, sport marketing, or recreation and leisure services program at a designated educational institution;
• Have a demonstrated financial need;
• Currently reside in Canada or plan to return to Canada upon completion of their studies;
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Ben Sabic Bursary.
Applications for the inaugural bursary closed on November 28, 2020.
