If you have any questions or would like to be notified about future bursary and volunteer opportunities, offered by the foundation and our partners, contact us at info@bensabic.org.

The Ben Sabic Bursary is for students enrolled in a sport management, sport marketing, or recreation and leisure services program at a designated educational institution.

The foundation prioritizes students who have a demonstrated financial need over academic excellence. Additionally, the foundation desires to help nurture the development of up-and-coming sport and recreation professionals. Therefore, an applicant’s ability to succeed in an educational environment or lack thereof and their grade point average will not be considered when evaluating applications.

Preference will be given to applicants whose financial situation has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are two $500 bursaries available. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled or plan to commence their studies in the Winter 2021 semester, in a sport management, sport marketing, or recreation and leisure services program at a designated educational institution;

  • Have a demonstrated financial need;

  • Currently reside in Canada or plan to return to Canada upon completion of their studies;
