The Sabic Leadership Scholarship is for young Canadians from across the nation, who embody leadership skills and endeavour to make a difference in their community. Applicants will be required to demonstrate leadership skills with a focus on community service, describe what degree their level of involvement in the community has been, and state why volunteering is important to them. Recipients of the scholarship embody a desire to make a difference and positively impact the lives of others.
The foundation values community involvement to a greater extent than academic excellence and seeks to support the development of young leaders. Therefore, an applicant’s ability to succeed in an educational environment or lack thereof and their grade point average will not be considered when evaluating applications.
The foundation will prioritize applicants who have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are two $1,000 scholarships available. To be eligible, applicants must:
Be currently enrolled in a designated educational institution;
Be between the ages of 16 and 34, at the time of their application;
Currently reside in Canada or plan to return to Canada upon completion of their studies;
Have prior volunteer experience in their local community or elsewhere;
